The board of directors of Hammes Co. have appointed Nancy Connolly as the company’s new president, the Milwaukee-based health care real estate developer announced this week.

Over her 16 years with Hammes, Connolly has been involved in the planning and development of health care assets, according to a news release, including ambulatory network planning, business planning, site selection and project management for ambulatory facilities, hospital renovations and expansions, and the development of hospitals in new markets and facility replacements.

Connolly is taking over the role as president following Chris Kay, who left the company last fall. Kay had been named president and chief operating officer of Hammes in early 2016, succeeding Richard Galling.

“Nancy brings deep industry knowledge, exceptional client service skills and an exemplary track record to her new role as president,” Jon Hammes, chairman and chief executive officer of Hammes, said in a news release. “Her strong combination of experience and skills, coupled with first-hand understanding of our people and our culture, will be highly advantageous to our organization.”

Connolly first joined the firm in 2003 as a consultant. Shortly thereafter, she moved from Washington D.C. to Philadelphia to open a new office. She was later named partner and relocated back to the nation’s capital to oversee Hammes’ eastern operations and work with regional leadership and consultants to achieve strategic objectives.

Connolly said she is thrilled to be leading the company in her new role.

“We have a great organization and an outstanding team of professionals that I am honored to work with and I look forward to the growth ahead of us,” she said in the release.
