Gov. Scott Walker and Democratic challenger Mary Burke are tied at 46 percent among registered voters in Wisconsin’s gubernatorial race, according to data from the latest Marquette Law School Poll released today.
The poll was conducted from May 15 to 18 with 805 registered Wisconsin voters, and the margin of error is +/- 3.5 percentage points.
In the March Law School Poll, Walker garnered 48 percent of voters, while Burke had 41 percent. In January, it was 47 percent to 41 percent in favor of Walker.
In May, among registered voters who are “likely to vote,” Walker leads 48 percent to 45 percent.
According to Charles Franklin, director of the poll, the 48-45 figure is inside the margin of error. There has been “a significant tightening of the race,” and turnout in November’s election is key to the result, he said.
