The three-story, 18,000-square-foot Class B office building was purchased by 10909 West Bluemound Road LLC, which is registered to Debra Stephenson, chief operating officer of the Mo’s Restaurant Group, for $975,000.

The Mo’s Restaurants affiliate bought the property from David Keren, of Whitefish Bay.

Stephenson and Johnny Vassallo, owner of Mo’s Restaurant Group, could not immediately be reached for comment.

This is the second property in the area purchased by the Mo’s ownership this year. In July, Vassallo purchased the former Edwardo’s Pizza property at the southwest corner of Mayfair and Bluemound roads in Wauwatosa, just east of the Mayfair Corridor Office Building, with a group of local investors.

At the time, he said he was exploring all of his options with the city and one possibility was a retail center.

“We want to take our time, and we’ll probably wait until the (Zoo Interchange construction project) is done – I never fathomed that would take so long,” Vassallo said in July. “It’s a great corner and an amazing piece of land.”

Paulette Enders, development director with the city of Wauwatosa said Vassallo has not been in contact with the city recently.

Vassallo founded Mo’s Restaurants in 1999, with the opening of Mo’s…A Place for Steaks in downtown Milwaukee.  He also currently owns Mo’s Irish Pub in downtown Milwaukee; Wauwatosa; Houston; Cypress, Texas; and Noblesville, Indiana; and steakhouses in Houston and Indianapolis.
