More than 70 employers have registered for the Milwaukee Career Expo, which will be held on Thursday, May 28, at State Fair Park in Milwaukee.
More than 1,000 registered job seekers are expected to attend the event, which will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The first 30 minutes will be reserved for U.S. military veterans who are looking for jobs.
The expo is being held by the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and the Milwaukee Area Workforce Development Board.
Among the companies that plan to attend the event are Roundy’s, FedEx Smart Post, DRS Technologies, Schneider National and Time Warner Cable.
“The Milwaukee Career Expo is open to businesses in all sectors with current job openings,” said DWD Secretary Reggie Newson. “I encourage employers to register for a booth today to ensure access to pre-screened job seekers who successfully demonstrate work-ready qualities.”
“We want to ensure Milwaukee job seekers are presented with as many opportunities as possible to get a family-supporting job. Connecting job seekers with quality employers is a win-win for everyone,” said Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, who is MAWIB’s chief elected local official.
Employers interested in attending the expo can register at WisconsinCareerExpo.com before May 15. Job seekers can register at JobCenterofWisconsin.com.
