Gavin Hattersley, chief executive officer of Molson Coors Brewing Co., has purchased a home in the Milwaukee area, which will become his permanent residence. Hattersley, who took the helm at Molson Coors in 2019, recently purchased a home in River Hills for $2.05 million, according to state records. He is relocating his primary residence from Chicago, which serves as Molson Coors' North American operational headquarters. In a statement, Molson Coors acknowledged Hattersley's move and reaffirmed the company will remain based in Chicago. "Like many other Chicago-based organizations, employees at our Chicago headquarters commute into the city from across the metropolitan area each and every day, which includes parts of northwestern Indiana and southeastern Wisconsin," the statement reads. "Buying a house is a deeply personal decision and that’s how Gavin and his family approached it. Gavin will now join the many employees who already make the commute from the Milwaukee area each day." Hattersley was previously chief financial officer of Molson Coors from 2012 to 2015 and MillerCoors CFO from 2008 to 2012. He also was senior vice president of finance for Miller Brewing Co. from 2002 to 2008. The relocation comes as the company has made significant changes to its U.S. footprint, which involves the movement of hundreds of jobs to Milwaukee. Molson Coors announced last year it was closing its Denver office, and would shift functional support roles from several locations around the country to Milwaukee as part of a revitalization plan aimed at streamlining operations. In 2017, Molson Coors established a global business service center in Milwaukee with 150 jobs, including 65 new positions. Hattersley's new home in River Hills totals roughly 11,900 square feet on five acres, with frontage on the Milwaukee River across from the Milwaukee Country Club golf course, according to online listings. It has five bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms, according to online listings. Its features include a grand dining room, a den and family room with fireplaces, and a master suite with two large walk-in closets, balconies and spa bath.
