Delafield and Cleveland, Ohio-based Modern Hireacquired Ireland-based Sonru, a provider of automated video interview technology, the company announced Tuesday.
Modern Hire provides recruiting and hiring technology for large enterprises, including 47 of the Fortune 100. The company uses its software-as-a-service interview technology, workflow automation and expertise in artificial intelligence and predictive analytics to streamline the hiring process.
Sonru provides a video interviewing solution that enables recruiters to replicate a live interview by replacing early-stage phone, Skype or face-to-face interviews. The company’s technology reduces early stage screening time, freeing up recruiters to focus on strategic tasks and ensuring consistency, fairness and the application of best practices, according to a press release.
Sonru says its technology reduces recruitment lifecycle time and costs by 50 percent. The company’s customers include several Fortune Global 500 companies such as DHL. Nestle, Qatar Airways, Rolls-Royce, UBS and Westpac.
The acquisition extends Modern Hire’s market share and reach into Europe, the Middle East and Africa as well as the Asia Pacific region.
"The Sonru and Modern Hire union brings together two companies focused on innovation with emphasis on the candidate experience," Sonru founder and chief executive officer Ed Hendrick said in a statement. "Our strategic decision to combine with Modern Hire allows us reinforce our clients' leadership in enhancing the candidate experience with Modern Hire's expanded suite of solutions.
Last year Delafield-based Montage Talent Inc. merged with Cleveland, Ohio-based Shaker International. The companies later rebranded as Modern Hire, keeping dual headquarters in Delafield and Cleveland.
