The Milwaukee County Research Park Corporation (MCRPC) has issued a request for proposal for two commercial/retail development lots totaling about 3 acres at Research Park in Wauwatosa.
The lots will be sold as a package for $3.3 million. MCRP will not pay a real estate sale commission on the transaction.
Lot 10 is 1.6 acres. Lot 21 is 1.5 acres and includes a 8,190-square-foot building. The structure was built in 1913 and is the former power house of the Muirdale Tuberculosis Sanitarium complex.
MCRPC’s is hoping to attract high quality, mixed-use, high-density commercial and retail development that will provide amenities for the occupants of the Research Park, the Milwaukee Regional Medical Center, the University of Wisconsin-Millwaukee Innovation Campus, and the general public, according to a written statement.
The open lots are near the 199-room Crowne Plaza hotel. Possible uses would include but are not limited to: restaurants, coffee shops, public markets, public houses, convenience stores (without gas), banking services, copy centers and other retail uses.
