Milwaukee celebrates its workers

The largest Labor Day Festival in southeastern Wisconsin will take place Monday at the Meir Festival Park, from noon until 5 p.m.

The festival will feature a children’s activity area, a classic car show, a parade from Zeidler Union Square to the festival grounds, food and entertainment including shows, games and bingo. The Milwaukee Labor Council also will celebrate 50 years at this year’s festival. Last year, then presidential candidate Barack Obama highlighted the event with a labor speech.
