Milwaukee Biz Blog: Turn UW chancellors loose to manage benefits

The faculty at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (UWM) has received no general raises over the last five years, so it has become a target for poaching.

The campus has lost 40 faculty members recently to competing institutions. The state should empower the chancellors in the UW System to negotiate the benefits packages of their faculty to free them from financial straight jackets, according to John Torinus, author of today’s Milwaukee Biz Blog.
