North Carolina-based Broadstep Behavioral Health, Inc. has acquired Good Hope Manor, LLC, a Milwaukee-based operator of assisted living facilities. Good Hope Manor operates six residential programs in Milwaukee and Ozaukee counties for individuals with long-term physical and mental disabilities. Broadstep, which was originally founded in Milwaukee as Phoenix Care Systems, Inc., rebranded and relocated its headquarters to Raleigh, North Carolina in May 2020. The company, which maintains its Wisconsin office at 5151 W. Silver Spring Dr. in Milwaukee, operates more than 90 facilities across Wisconsin, Illinois, South Carolina, New Jersey and Nebraska. It said it serves about 1,300 individuals with intellectual, developmental and behavioral health conditions. Good Hope Manor was founded in 2003 and is registered to Chris Witzlib of Port Washington, according to state filings. Broadstep said its acquisition of Good Hope Manor’s programs extends its reach into Wisconsin behavioral health services. “Expanding our ability to serve those with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Wisconsin remains a top priority for us,” said Lynn Mason, president and chief executive officer of Broadstep. “The addition of Good Hope Manor’s homes and operations to our Broadstep portfolio of services expands our continuum of care to meet the needs of the more highly acute, physically disabled and aging I/DD (intellectual/developmental disabilities) populations.” Broadstep expects to retain all Good Hope Manor jobs as part of the transaction, a company spokesman said. Good Hope Manor facilities will be rebranded as Broadstep. Broadstep is part of the Bain Capital Double Impact fund’s portfolio of companies. The fund targets its investments in middle-market companies in the areas of sustainability, health and wellness, and education and workforce development. Broadstep received an undisclosed significant investment form BCDI in the spring of 2020 to expand into new markets.
