Germantown-based
MGS Mfg. Group has expanded its operations in Europe with the acquisition of
Formteknik.
MGS is a vertically integrated provider of manufacturing solutions for complex, high-precision plastic components. The company said the deal would strengthen its ability to serve as a provider of tooling, molding and automation capabilities for customers in health care, automotive, packaging and consumer industries.
“We are excited to welcome Formteknik to MGS,” said Paul Manley, president and CEO of MGS. “Culturally, we have tremendous alignment – everything our organizations do revolves around delivering superior solutions for our customers. With Formteknik, MGS can now deliver integrated manufacturing solutions in Europe with a single point of contact, which mirrors our model in North America.”
Formteknik has operations in Denmark, Sweden and Germany.
“Our services, from tool development to turnkey injection molding solutions and system validation, perfectly align with MGS’ current global capabilities in mold building, injection molding, and automation. The team at Formteknik is thrilled to become part of the MGS family to bring integrated manufacturing capabilities to customers across Europe,” said Formteknik’s management team of Henrik Jørgensen in Denmark, Jan Aronsson in Sweden and Dirk Paulmann in Germany.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. MGS did say it would expand the company to 1,500 employees across 11 facilities globally. In November, the company said it had 1,300 employees across six manufacturing facilities.
