Meta House names new chief executive officer

Milwaukee attorney Amy Lindner has been named president and chief executive officer of Meta House in Milwaukee.

Meta House treats women in recovery for drug and alcohol addiction and provides comprehensive services for their children. Lindner will succeed Dr. Francine Feinberg, who led the organization for the past 29 years and will be retiring this fall. Lindner’s position is effective Aug. 1.
“I am honored to have this opportunity to lead this inspiring organization that provides crucial services to the women and children of our community,” Lindner said. “I believe deeply in the mission of Meta House and as the nation struggles with health care issues that affect our families, the Meta House team is even more committed to preserving and enhancing the crucial services we provide.”
Lindner has served on the Meta House board of directors since 2008 and as president of the board since 2010. Prior to joining the Board, she was an active member of the Meta House Fund Development Committee and a donor.
Lindner has a law background and has practiced with The Schroeder Group and Reinhart Boerner VanDeuren in Milwaukee. She spent much of her legal career advocating solutions for individual and business clients.
Meta House provides 24-hour housing, care and treatment for women and their children, as well as outpatient treatment services for women able to remain in their own homes while attending day treatment, or intensive outpatient treatment.  It was founded in 1963 as a seven-bed residential treatment center.
“Francine’s leadership has helped thousands of women progress down the road of recovery from alcohol and drug addiction. She built a talented professional staff and an organization characterized by compassionate treatment and successful outcomes,” Lindner said. “I am confident that together we will all continue her legacy of serving the women and children of Milwaukee who are suffering the effects of substance abuse.”
