Rexnord acquires British manufacturer
Milwaukee-based Rexnord LLC has acquired Autogard Holdings Ltd., a European-based manufacturer of torque limiters, couplings and torque monitoring devices.
The acquisition further expands Rexnord’s global Process and Motion Control platform. Autogard’s premium brand of torque limiter products complement Rexnord’s leading power transmission product offering and will allow Rexnord to provide increased support to its global customer base.
Torque limiters are a mechanical "fuse" that accurately disengages the driving and driven equipment at a preset torque level. The disengagement protects the drive train from damaging inertias caused by overloads and jams. Torque Limiters are adjustable over a wide range of torques and are suitable for high-speed applications. Users can rapidly reset the product to ensure their systems benefit from maximum uptime.
Autogard was founded in 1939 and is based in Cirencester, England. The company has manufacturing facilities in the United Kingdom and the United States, as well as sales and support offices located throughout Europe, North America and Australia.
