S.C. Johnson to acquire Kiwi brand
Racine-based S.C. Johnson & Son Inc. has reached an agreement to acquire Sara Lee Corp.’s global shoe care business, including the Kiwi brand of shoe polish.
The deal adds the Kiwi brand to S.C. Johnson’s portfolio of household brands, including Pledge, Glade, Mr. Muscle, Windex and Ziploc.
The deal also includes Downers Grove, Ill.-based Sara Lee’s Bama International, which sells shoe accessories in specialty channels in Europe and Canada, and Kiwi Kleen, a line of household cleaning products sold mainly in Asia Pacific using the Kiwi branding.
"We’re thrilled that the addition of Kiwi to S.C. Johnson will enable us to offer families around the world yet another long-respected leading household brand," said S.C. Johnson chairman and chief executive officer Fisk Johnson.
SC Johnson expects the deal to be finalized by mid-2011 after the customary regulatory clearances and is currently working on transition plans for the business.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Reilly, Penner & Benton acquires Stoughton CPA firm
Wauwatosa-based accounting firm Reilly, Penner & Benton LLP has acquired Stoughton-based Sheldon CPA LLC. Sheldon CPA specializes in small business and individual tax work, consulting, and ongoing accounting support.
Peggy Sheldon and her staff will continue to work from their current Stoughton location until June, at which point the Sheldon CPA office will be integrated with the Madison office of Reilly, Penner & Benton.
“We were very impressed with Peggy Sheldon and her staff,” stated Steve Volz, partner at Reilly, Penner & Benton. “It has been two years since our last Madison-area acquisition, and we felt that Sheldon CPA will help to support our growing Madison business.”
