Wauwatosa-based developer Wangard Partners Inc. has named former state Department of Administration official Matt Moroney as its chief operations officer and general counsel.
Moroney has held executive-level positions in both the private and public sector. Most recently, he served as strategic initiatives director for the DOA, a position in which he played a key role advancing plans for development of the Foxconn Technology Group manufacturing campus in Mount Pleasant.
In a news release, Wangard said that Moroney’s experience working with different audiences and reaching across the political aisle will deepen the firm’s overall leadership experience. Specifically, the company cites his recent experience in working with with Racine mayor Cory Mason and the recently appointed DNR secretary Preston Cole.
“Matt’s arrival to our leadership team is very significant because of his extensive experience as a team leader and problem solver. He has regularly built collaborative efforts that have moved successful projects forward,” Stewart Wangard, chairman and CEO of Wangard, said in the release. “As we continue to grow and engage in projects at the local, state and national levels, Matt brings leadership and organizational strengths that are essential to our teambuilding efforts.”
Moroney has also previously served as deputy secretary at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, deputy chief of staff for operations in Gov. Scott Walker’s administration and executive director of the Metropolitan Builders Association of Greater Milwaukee.
