Innovation: Master Lock Vault Security Application
Security has become an increasingly important topic with the evolution of technology to include online and mobile services. Oak Creek-based Master Lock Company recently released the latest version of its Master Lock Vault application for smart phones that allows users to safely and securely store passwords, log-ins and important documents.
“The average person uses approximately eight different logins a day,” said Marti Gahlman, director of e-commerce and digital. “It’s nearly impossible to remember them all. The Master Lock Vault App allows users to safely store site passwords, lock combinations and even upload critical documents like insurance papers, or a driver’s license and other critical documents. That way, you can access the information from anywhere you have an internet connection.”
The application is available on iPhone, Android and other devices including the Nook Tablet, Amazon Kindle and Kindle Fire, Gahlman said.
The product emerged naturally from consumer requests to receive their lock combinations, Gahlman said.
“It was such a natural progression for us. Today, nearly everything is digital, so people really love the convenience of the application and the accessibility of the product,” Gahlman said.
The system has built in browser and device recognition securities along with traditional encryption security measures, Gahlman said.
The application is free for all mobile devices and users can store up to 1 gigabyte (GB) of data for free. Additional storage capacity is available for purchase at 3GB for $4.99 and 10GB for $14.99.
The application was developed by Milwaukee-based Roll Mobile, a 2013 Bravo! Entrepreneur Award winner.
