The building itself won’t be finished until March of next year, but that didn’t stop a Massachusetts investment firm from buying an 11.7-acre parcel off 4 Mile Road in Caledonia where a 188,846-square-foot spec industrial building is being constructed in the WisPark's DeBack Farms Business Park. A limited liability affiliated with Bridgewater, Massachusetttes-based Claremont Companies purchased the property last week from WisPark for just slightly less than $1.46 million, according to online property transfer records posted Tuesday. The parcel is located at 13301 4 Mile Road, which is just east of I-94. The building is being constructed by Minnesota-based Likewise Partners. According to a May 2021 press release, the development firm targets industrial investment and development in Midwest markets, including Minneapolis, Minnesota; Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin; Des Moines, Iowa; and Grand Rapids, Michigan. Cushman & Wakefield-Boerke are already leasing space in the building. First developed about six years ago, the DeBack Farms Business Park, is currently home to a 323,000-square-feet warehouse that Indianapolis-based Scannell Properties constructed last year for General Mills. Scannell has plans to construct two other buildings at the business park, according to a March 2021 Racine County Economic Development Corp. press release. Industrial door manufacturer, Norco also a location in the park, as does storage company, CSW.
