Manufacturing training grants available

The Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development will provide grants to manufacturing companies for worker training through the Wisconsin Fast Forward program. Applications are due today.

The grants available are $400,000 for training manufacturing workers specifically for businesses with 50 or fewer full-time employees; and $1 million to train manufacturing workers.

Wisconsin Fast Forward was approved by the legislature earlier this year, and will provide $15 million through 2015 for employer-led worker training programs.

Applications received today will be reviewed over the next several weeks and awards will be announced early next year. At that time, additional grant opportunities will be announced.
