Mandel Graphic Solutions will move out of its current location at 1319 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. along the Park East corridor in downtown Milwaukee to the former W.H. Brady Co. building at 727 W. Glendale Ave. in Glendale.
The company will lease 15,000 square feet of space in the Glendale building. It currently leases about 18,000 square feet of space, occupying the top floor of a 101-year old building on King Drive.
Mandel Graphic Solutions, which has 10 employees, was founded in 1892 and has been located in the King Drive building since the 1940s. The company decided to move to the Glendale building because it was the right opportunity for a wide-open, more modern first floor space said president Rick Mandel. The company recently purchased a large piece of new equipment and it will be much easier to install at the Glendale building, he said.
“It’s a perfect scenario for us,” Mandel said. “(The new location) has a lot more usable space. It’s completely open. Here, it’s a 100-year-old building with a lot of walls and a lot of (smaller) spaces.”
Over the years Mandel Graphics has evolved from a printing company into a graphics solutions provider that creates displays for point-of-purchase retail sales and events.
The 5-story, 93,750-square-foot King Drive building is owned by Van Buren Management Inc., which is trying to attract office or retail tenants to the building. Van Buren’s plans for the building had no impact on Mandel Graphic’s relocation plans, Mandel said.
