LULAC provides funds for education in minority communities

The League of United Latin American Citizens of Wisconsin in partnership with CSC Learning will provide more than $300,000 in scientifically-based eLearning tools for literacy to organizations serving minority communities in Wisconsin.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with CSC Learning, a leader in eLearning technology, on a program that will provide direct educational benefit to Wisconsin’s minority student populations,” said Darryl Morin, state director of LULAC.  “While we know the needs are great, today, we can say help is on the way.”
The program will provide more than $300,000 in software and support grants that will be awarded by LULAC to community-based organizations in the African American, Asian, Hispanic and Native American communities of Wisconsin. Applications for a portion of the money will be collected during a competitive proposal process, Morin said.
“Our partnership with LULAC was quite natural,” said Caroline Sanchez Crozier, CSC Learning president and founder.  “Given LULAC”s long history in education, combined with their community presence and organization, we knew LULAC was the right partner.  Our main goal was to select a partner that would get these precious resources to the communities that can benefit the most.”
