According to Johnson, emotional intelligence is a learned skill, and Benjamin has notoriously delivered in programs so people in businesses of all sizes can take back the information and use it immediately.
"This is what people in businesses are looking for. You know, it’s the IQ that gets people hired, but it’s the EQ (emotional intelligence), or lack of, that can get people fired," Johnson said.
The second half of the program will feature a panel discussion of local CEOs who have developed the skills of emotional intelligence in their management teams, and learn how the tools have changed their corporate culture and productivity levels.
The discussion will be led by Karen Vernal, president of Vernal Management, Milwaukee, and will include: Sue Ela, senior vice president, Aurora Health Care; Mary Meehan, president, Alverno University, Milwaukee; Paul Borowski, executive director and chief strategic officer, American Society Quality, Milwaukee; Peggy Coakley, CEO, Coakley Bros. Co., Cudahy; and Jill Morin, CEO, Kahler Slater Architects, Milwaukee. The cost of the program is $125 for individual members, and $150 for individual non-members, or $1,000 for a table of eight.
