Milwaukee-based Lakefront Brewery Inc. was awarded seven medals at the Los Angeles International Commercial Beer Competition.
Wisconsinite, launched just over a month ago, garnered the Gold medal and took first place out of all indigenous beers submitted worldwide.
“We are delighted by the results which reflect the consistent hard work our brew crew has put into making our quality beers,” said Lakefront Brewery president Russ Klisch. “I’m also exceptionally excited that the Wisconsinite won a Gold Medal; it shows the combination of our brewers’ talents, along with locally grown ingredients—including a yeast strain indigenous to Wisconsin—makes for a winning formula.”
Lakefront’s gold medal winners were: Wisconsinite Summer Weiss (Indigenous Beer), Fixed Gear Red Ale (American Style Amber/Red Ale), Fuel Cafe Coffee Stout (Coffee Flavored Beer) and My Turn Series “Brad” (Scottish Style Ale). Its silver medal winner was Riverwest Stein (American Style Amber Lager). Its bronze meda winners were: New Grist (Gluten-Free Beer) and I.B.A. (American Style Black Ale).
