Milwaukee-based accounting firm Komisar Brady & Co. LLP has been acquired by Minneapolis-based professional services firm CliftonLarsonAllen.
Komisar Brady has about 50 employees, all of whom have been retained in the transaction, which was effective Jan. 1. Its office is at 135 S. 84th St. in Milwaukee, and employees will continue to serve clients out of that location for the time being. In a letter to clients, Komisar Brady indicated it may move to CLA’s office at 10700 W. Research Drive in Wauwatosa’s nearby Innovation Park at a later date as it integrates with CLA’s Milwaukee office.
“We have always prided ourselves on working closely with our clients and providing personalized service,” said Kathy Bennett, managing partner at Komisar Brady. “We are fortunate to have found a great match in CLA which will allow for us to continue our long-practiced tradition of service as well as the ability to offer a broader range of support to our many clients.”
“In the coming months, I’ll be looking deeper at how we might combine our offices in the future, but we have nothing specific at this time,” said Todd Craft, managing principal of CLA’s Central Wisconsin offices, which include Milwaukee, Madison, Racine and Sheboygan. The decision on a combined office will be made by late spring, he said.
CliftonLarsonAllen has 90 locations nationwide and $630 million in revenue. It has approximately 4,000 employees. CLA offers wealth advisory, outsourcing and public accounting services.
“We serve clients best when we exhibit drive, imagination, integrity, and respect,” Craft said. “The addition of the Komisar Brady team reinforces our common purpose — contributing to the success of our clients, each step of the way.”
Three other companies—Edina, Minn.-based business consulting firm Four Point Partners; Dunwoody, Ga.-based accounting firm Galanti & Co.; and Bloomington, Ill.-based accounting firm Guthoff Mehall Allen & Co.—also were acquired by CLA effective Jan. 1, the company announced today.
