Kohlโs Corp. announced it will donate $5 million to Childrenโs Hospital of Wisconsin in support of mental health services for children and families.

The four-year grant is aimed at addressing the need for greater access to mental health services in Wisconsin, along with promoting mental health awareness.
โKohlโs shares Childrenโs Hospital of Wisconsinโs commitment to childrenโs health and wellness, and weโre proud to elevate our nearly 20-year partnership with this amazing institution,โ said Michelle Gass, Kohlโs chief executive officer. โWe applaud the efforts Childrenโs Hospital of Wisconsin is making to break down barriers and increase access to services and resources that support mental wellness by addressing stress, anxiety, trauma, depression, and other issues that so many kids across the country face today.โ
Childrenโs Hospital of Wisconsin will use the funding to support mental health access, early detection, prevention, education, and awareness through the expansion of school-based mental and behavioral health services, introduction of new system-wide screening tools, mental health programming research and an awareness campaign.
โThis incredibly generous gift will jump-start numerous initiatives and expand programs that strengthen our mental health strategy,โ said Peggy Troy, president and CEO of Childrenโs Hospital of Wisconsin. โWe are so thankful that Kohlโs believes in our vision that Wisconsin kids will be the healthiest in the nation โ physically, mentally, and socially. Sadly, Wisconsin ranks extremely low in meeting the mental health needs of our kids.โ
Kohlโs and its philanthropic program Kohlโs Cares have donated more than $15 million to Childrenโs Hospital of Wisconsin since 2000.
