Plans include adding six four-bedroom suites, four two-bedroom suites and 10 standard hotel rooms. The project would also expand the main lobby and atrium.

Inn on Woodlake manager Shawn Boeldt said the new suites would address a growing demand for multi-room units.

“When you’re traveling with friends and families, you want to spend as much time together as possible,”Boeldt said. “We have seen a growing trend for the desire for more common spaces, so we are excited to have this offering available at the Inn on Woodlake. We anticipate groups of golfers, travelers and families very much enjoying this lodging option.”

The Village of Kohler Planning Commission approved the expansion in a meeting Tuesday night. Plans will go before the village board for final approval on Aug. 8.

Kohler Co. representatives anticipate the company will break ground on the project this fall and said the hotel will remain open during construction.
