Construction began recently for the 40,000-square-foot Junior Achievement of Wisconsin Kohl’s Education Center, which will be built at 11111 W. Liberty Place, Milwaukee.
The total cost of the project is $6 million. Kohl’s Corp. contributed $3 million and Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Co. contributed $1 million toward the project. The building was designed by Kahler Slater and is being managed by HSI Properties. Construction is expected to be complete in the spring of 2011. The facility will provide space for the JA Biz Town and JA Finance Park learning labs. The learning labs will provide hands-on experiences for students in the areas of work readiness, financial literacy and entrepreneurship skills.
