Milwaukee-based Foley & Lardner LLP announced that John Wilson, partner, has been honored for his personal achievements and support of his alma mater, Marquette University, at the university’s 2016 Alumni National Awards. Wilson is among the 50 accomplished alumni and friends who were honored for their personal achievements and support of the university.
Wilson (Arts ’92) received the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Les Aspin Center for Government. Wilson participated in the Les Aspin Center for Government program in 1990 as an intern in the office of U.S. Senator Herb Kohl. He cites his time at the Les Aspin Center as a transformational experience that has shaped his life and career. Wilson has served on the Les Aspin Center Board of Visitors for 10 years and is a financial supporter of the Les Aspin Center. His support for the center has given countless students the opportunity to study in Washington, D.C.
“Being able to help the Les Aspin program grow and maintain its success is so important to me,” said Wilson. “I get to help provide students with the opportunity to experience the internship that helped me start my career.”
