“I will always love Summerfest and Henry Maier Festival Park,” Boler said. “Summerfest is truly a ‘gem for this city’ and a mega-event that millions of music fans, artists and brands feel a deep connection to in various ways. I am honored and have been blessed to have been part of Summerfest’s amazing progress over the last 10-plus years, and I am grateful to the organization and the community for the opportunities that I have had during my tenure. At the same time, I am so very thrilled to commence with this new professional chapter in my career with a such a high-quality brand and organization. Aurora Health Care is the leader in health care, and I look forward to joining their team to generate continued positive results for the brand, caregivers and patients.”
“Though we will miss him tremendously, at the same time we are very excited for him as Aurora Health Care is a high-quality organization, which owns and operates 15 hospitals, employs approximately 30,000 professionals and generates approximately $4.7B/year,” said Don Smiley, president and chief executive officer of Milwaukee World Festival, in a company announcement.
“I appreciate and respect the straightforward honesty, objectivity and integrity he brought to each situation and without doubt, always knew I could count on him to handle large issues and opportunities, as well as intricate details,” he continued. “His entire body of work leading his department has helped make this organization stronger and the results delivered for the Summerfest brand have far exceeded my expectations. For this, on behalf of the MWF board of directors, staff and myself, we offer John a hearty ‘Thank you.’”
