National first-time jobless claims dipped by 2,000 to a seasonally adjusted 370,000 last week, the U.S. Labor Department reported today.
Claims from two weeks ago were revised up to 372,000 from an original reading of 370,000, based on more complete data collected at the state levels.
Meanwhile, the average of new claims over the past four weeks fell by 5,500 to 370,000, its lowest level in six weeks.
Initial unemployment claims in Wisconsin fell to 9,063 last week from 10,312 in the prior week, according to preliminary estimates reported by the Department of Workforce Development.
