Inland Companies will move to downtown Milwaukee

Inland Companies, a commercial real estate company, will move its headquarters to downtown Milwaukee.
About 30 to 35 employees will be moving from the company’s current headquarters at the Park Place office complex on Milwaukee’s far northwest side, said Inland Companies partner Michael Fardy. The company has another 25 to 30 employees that are scattered around at other locations.
Inland executives will make a decision in the next 30 to 45 days about which downtown building they will move their offices to, Fardy said. The company will occupy about 10,000 to 11,000 square feet of office space.
"We’re looking at a couple of locations," he said.
Fardy said the company is moving downtown to be closer to business contacts and allow employees the opportunities to take advantage of downtown amenities such as restaurants and nightlife activities.
"We want to tap into the synergy of being downtown and being close to some of the attorneys and financial people we deal with on a regular basis," he said.
Downtown Milwaukee has gained several additional office tenants recently. Last year, Roundy’s Inc. moved its headquarters and about 500 employees from Pewaukee to the 875 E. Wisconsin Ave. building. In addition, Bank One moved 750 employees from Menomonee Falls to its downtown Milwaukee building at 111 E. Wisconsin Ave.
