Germantown-based packaging distributor
Illing Co. Inc. has purchased its newly constructed headquarters, production facility and warehouse for $16.05 million, according to state records.
An affiliate of Illing last week purchased the 248,000-square-foot facility, located at W204 N13125 Goldendale Road, from Goldendale Road Germantown LLC, which is registered to Brookfield-based Briohn Property Management LLC. Parent company
Briohn Building Corp. built the facility.
Illing's plans to relocate its operations to the new facility were first made public
last year.
The new facility combines operations currently performed in three separate buildings, according to the company. It is also
100% solar powered.
Keith Hemmig, Illing director of marketing and business development, said the company started moving product into its new location in mid-July and it continues moving over operations, productions and more inventory. Exterior work such as paving, landscaping and signage is being completed, he said. Work to the interior is also nearly finished.
"Interior details and office finishing touches are being finalized and we plan to be collectively on site in our new space around Oct. 1," Hemmig said in an email.
It is also located in a part of Germantown, just east of the I-41 and Holy Hill Road interchange, that has seen significant industrial development in the last few years. The Illing building sits at the northeastern corner of the development activity, at the southwest corner of Rockfield and Goldendale roads.
The area includes the 140-acre Gateway Corporate Park. Developed by Milwaukee-based Zilber Property Group, the industrial park consists of four buildings ranging from 146,000 square feet to 706,800 square feet. The fourth building was
proposed earlier this year, and the industrial park still has room for another two buildings and up to 800,000 square feet.
Just east of the industrial park is the 100,000-square-foot
Dielectric Corp. headquarters and manufacturing facility.
