Ian’s Pizza to open third Milwaukee location in June

Ian’s Pizza will open at 5300 W. Bluemound Road

Ian’s Pizza is expanding to Milwaukee’s Story Hill neighborhood later this spring.

Slated to open on June 1, Ian’s will take over 2,000 square feet of a two-story building located at 5300 W. Bluemound Road. The space previously housed a bakery, called It’z My Party Cakery.

The restaurant serves gourmet pizza by the slice or whole pie, specializing in unique variations such as Mac n’ Cheese, Smoked Brisket and Tots, and Quesadilla. It opened its first location in 2001 on State Street in Madison and has since grown to operate a total of seven locations in Madison, Milwaukee, Denver and Seattle.

Ian’s new location will be its third for Milwaukee, joining locations on the East Side and downtown on Juneau Avenue.

Situated just north of Miller Park, the Story Hill restaurant will be located in a prime spot for Brewers game traffic, said managing partner Ryan Donovan.

He said the restaurant will operate until 10 p.m. on weeknights, but if there’s a Brewers game, it will close at midnight. And like most Ian’s locations, the restaurant will stay open until after bar close on Fridays and Saturdays.

The new restaurant will have the smallest footprint of the three Milwaukee-area locations, Donovan said. Oconomowoc-based architecture firm MSI General is currently working to remodel the former bakery space, which was already equipped with most of the necessary infrastructure but needed a few additions, he said.
