M&I, now a part of BMO Financial Group, recently awarded Hunger Task Force with a check for $76, 650. The money was collected through the bank’s annual holiday display. "This year we added something truly special to our beloved annual tradition in Milwaukee with hopes of bringing joy to families not only during the holidays but all year long," said Kara Kaiser, regional president. "The Hunger Task Force plays a crucial role in upholding the well -being of our community, and to be part of their movement was an opportunity we couldn’t pass up."
M&I, now BMO Harris Bank, committed to donating $5 to Hunger Task Force for each guest who visited the downtown lobby in support of the organization’s efforts to prevent hunger and malnutrition in Milwaukee communities.
Kaiser presented the check for $76,650 to Sherrie Tussler, Hunger Task Force Executive Director.
The final donation total, which was the result of over 15,000 Holiday Display visitors, was revealed Sunday with the help of Milwaukee Bucks’ point guard Brandon Jennings and Bucks’ mascot Bango. With each slam dunk made on court, a new number of the grand total was revealed by the children of M&I employees volunteering at the event.
"Hunger Task Force salutes BMO for giving the community such a family friendly way to make a difference to a hungry neighbor," said Tussler. "Being able to enjoy a holiday tradition while having a positive impact on the community is a win for everyone involved. We appreciate BMO’s leadership and friendship."
