Randall “Ran” Hoth will retire from his role as president and chief executive officer of the Better Business Bureau Serving Wisconsin in October 2016, the organization announced today.
Hoth has spent 18 years with the nonprofit organization, which monitors the ethics and compliance of businesses across the state.
During his leadership, he grew the organization from the BBB of Greater Milwaukee to BBB Serving Wisconsin.
Hoth is past president of the Rotary Club of Milwaukee, the founding organization of the BBB Serving Wisconsin. He created and now serves as president of the BBB of Wisconsin Foundation, which focuses on educational outreach, recognition of ethical companies and charities, and identity protection of consumers and businesses.
Hoth has also served on regional and national committees within the Council of Better Business Bureaus, which oversees 112 BBB offices across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
“My proudest accomplishment is to see the passionate service provided by our BBB team members to businesses and the public each and every day,” Hoth said in a statement. “I am very proud to have participated in the expansion of recognition for BBB standards that promote ethical business behavior. Character, ethics and integrity will never go out of style and are so vital to making buying decisions in our fast-paced society today.”
Bill Goodman, board chair of BBB Serving Wisconsin, credits Hoth as a “chief ambassador” for the organization.
Hoth will officially retire on Oct. 1. An executive committee has developed a search committee to find the nonprofit’s next leader.
