Guest House of Milwaukee volunteer Ossie Kendrix, Jr has teamed up with Hotel Metro and Zen on 7 to sponsor a Sole-ution to Homelessness Shoe Drive at Hotel Metro on Thursday, July 26 from 5 to 8 p.m. Attendees are asked to donate new or gently used men’s shoes. Cash donations will also be accepted.
“When Ossie approached us about doing a donation drive for items that our guests desperately need, shoes were at the top of the list,” said Cindy Krahenbuhl, executive director of the Guest House of Milwaukee. “Many of our guests enter the Guest House with only the clothes on their back, and simply don’t have the income to purchase shoes suitable for job interviews or walking to public transportation.”
Cocktails and appetizers will be available for purchase, and a silent auction will also take place.
