The Franklin-based company is the North American headquarters for Maschinenfabrik Berthold Hermle AG located in Gosheim, Germany. The firm provides high precision machine tools, automation and other manufacturing solutions.

The company described the change as a shift away from a more traditional company structure and will feature three vice presidents sharing duties and responsibilities.

Manuel Merkt will lead Hermle’s operations as vice president of operations, Gunther Schnitzer will oversee the sales and engineering teams as vice president of sales and engineering, and Eric Olender will serve as vice president of technical services, overseeing the parts, service, and IT departments.

“I’m really excited about this reshaping of our leadership team, as it will benefit all our customers, and allow Hermle to continue to deliver on our promise of best-in-class performance and service,” Schnitzer said. “With the new ‘3EO’ model, we are confident that each of our individual areas of expertise can be utilized to the fullest advantage.”

Merkt and Schnitzer worked their way up through the company in Germany, while Olender is the only American-born member of the new leadership team.

“We’re often asked why we chose Milwaukee for our North American headquarters. Milwaukee has a rich industrial and manufacturing history, and we’re proud to be part of that history–and its exciting future,” Merkt said.
