HEAR Wisconsin, a West Allis-based nonprofit that serves children and adults with hearing problems, is hosting a gala at Discovery World in Milwaukee on May 19 to celebrate its 90th anniversary.
The organization, founded in 1926, aims to eliminate communication and language barriers for those suffering from various degrees of hearing loss.
“At the center of each human connection is communication, and it’s been HEAR WI’s mission for the last 90 years to ensure those with hearing loss have access to those essential human connections,” said Richard Phalen, executive director of HEAR Wisconsin. “We are proud of our past and poised for our future – excited to celebrate, but ready for the next 90 years helping both families and individuals affected by hearing loss or deafness to overcome barriers to communication for a better quality of life.”
The event will include dinner, drinks and an auction. Money raised will support the organization’s programs and services.
Individual tickets to the gala cost $125 and can be purchased on the organization’s website. Tables of eight are available for $1,000.
