He previously served as program director of The Kern Family Foundation, a Waukesha-based grantmaking foundation with a heavy focus on supporting youth development opportunities. At the foundation, Hasbrook ran a program team working to create an entrepreneurial engineering strategy that would revamp undergraduate engineering education across the country.

His career has also included close to 25 years with Milwaukee-based Brady Corporation. His most recent role with the company was director of sustainability. Throughout his tenure with the company, Hasbrook also handled business strategy, brand and new program development, marketing communications, e-commerce and collaboration, foundation program management, change management, and employee and community development and engagement.

In Hasbrook’s new presidential role, much of his attention will center on ensuring Notre Dame School of Milwaukee students are on the right path toward college or a career.

“My goal is to continue the transformation of students and our community by providing the best faith-based education possible,” Hasbrook said in a statement. “NDS will make certain that every graduate is prepared for college and career as well as a life full of faith, service and citizenship.”

Hasbrook, a Wisconsin native, earned a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an executive master of business administration degree from UWM.

Hasbrook was selected by the NDS Presidential Search Committee. His appointment was approved by the Sisters of Notre Dame and the NDS board of directors.

“Our committee led an exhaustive search and had a strong pool of candidates,” said Mary Jo Dempsey, NDS governance chair. “Steve Hasbrook emerged as the right leader for our organization. We know he will be able to successfully lead the team, serve our families and execute on NDS priorities including extending our graduate assistance program, implementation of our STEM initiative and providing the strongest academic and Catholic education possible to each student.”
