Milwaukee-based Harley-Davidson Inc. has named Jagdish Krishnan to the new role of chief digital officer.
Krishnan will be responsible for the development of a new digital strategy intended to improve the customer retail experience with direct-to-consumer technology for ecommerce and dealer digitization. He will also lead a modernization of the company’s global information systems to make them more customer-centric.
“We will take a completely different approach to applying digital technology across the company to fundamentally change how we operate and create value. To deliver on our objectives, we must have an innovative and high-performance IT function,” said Jochen Zeitz, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Harley-Davidson.
The new chief digital officer role is one of several Zeitz has created or elevated to report directly to him as part of The Rewire, an overhaul of the company that aims to reset its operations ahead of a new strategic plan launching later this year.
Krishnan has spent the last 13 years at Bose Corp., the maker of headphones and speakers. Most recently, he was the company’s vice president and chief digital officer.
He joined Bose after three years at Deloitte & Touche.
