Hank the Dog shares view from the luxury suite

BizTimes will publish “The Executive,” a special new supplement featuring Luxury Living, on April 28.

The inaugural edition of the magazine will feature executive lifestyle surveys and photos, as well as listings of high-end homes and automobiles.

As such, we reached out to several southeastern Wisconsin executives to survey them about how they live the “high life” on weekends and vacations. They responded with details about their favorite restaurants, concerts, vacation destinations, etc.

I sent one of the surveys to Tyler Barnes, vice president of communications for the Milwaukee Brewers. What came back was a response…From Hank the Dog. I’m starting to get a bit worried about my man Tyler. But for what it’s worth, here is Hank’s reply:

Name: “Hank.”

Title: “The Dog (or Ballpark Pup).”

Company or organization: “Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club.”

City: “Cold.”

Industry: “Mascot (Sorry Bernie and Chorizo, this is my town now.)”

Tell us about your favorite hobbies/activities to do after hours: “Sleep, eat and sniff. I also enjoy a nice cigar.”

What’s the one interesting thing about you that most people wouldn’t know? “I am really a deposed leader of a country that I kept down with an iron fist. Great costume, huh?”

Tell us about the best vacation you ever took: “Uh, you know I was a stray, right? My types don’t do much vacationing. The press box in Maryvale was pretty cool, though. Great view.”

Favorite beach: “Can we go with a desert? The Sonoran was pretty solid. Did you know that it’s the only place where the saguaro cactus grows? No, you didn’t.”

Favorite “Up North” Wisconsin destination (and why): “Are you kidding? You want to take me FURTHER north? I’m freezing enough!!!”

Tell us about your favorite music concert: “Pink Floyd, June 25, 1977, Cleveland Municipal Stadium. They were touring off the Animals record. David Gilmour did a 12-minute solo on the song “Dog” which, to this day, wags my tail. The weird pig flying over the stage was disturbingly attractive.”

Favorite movie: “’Raising Arizona.’”

Favorite book: “Chaucer’s ‘The Canterbury Tales.’ I’m a huge fan of 14th century works. I love that most of this work is in verse and just when you get comfortable, he jumps to prose. I always get a laugh thinking that this is the same guy who wrote ‘Troilus’ and ‘Criseyde.’ How boring!”

Favorite watering hole: “Any hydrant will do.”

Favorite Milwaukee-area restaurant: “The clubhouse buffet in Maryvale. Oh, how I miss Ed Sedar’s sausage and egg scramble.”

Tell us about your first car: “Wow, you had to go there? Perhaps you haven’t heard that my first go with a car involved one rolling me when I clearly had the right of way? I’m still washing the grease off my back. End of interview.”
