Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity, Inc. plans to build 15 new homes in the Washington Park neighborhood beginning this spring.

The nonprofit is in the process of purchasing vacant lots from the city for $1 per lot.

Identified lots are located on North 33rd Street, North 34th Street and West Walnut Street within the Washington Park neighborhood.

Homes will be available in four different models, each about 1,100-1,400 square feet with three or four bedrooms and two baths. Habitat will sell completed homes to owners for $85,000 to $90,000. Owners must also pay for Habitat homes through sweat equity.

Habitat has produced more than 500 homes for low to moderate-income families in Milwaukee since 1984.
