Growing Power to open market in King Commons

Growing Power has announced the grand opening of Growing Power’s Deli & Food Market in the King Commons development at 2737 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. in Milwaukee.

The market, which will offer naturally grown foods and specials made from locally grown produce, was developed with the help of the Martin Luther King Economic Development Corporation and its executive director, Welford Sanders.
It is one of the first markets of its kind in the nation to be located in a “food desert area” that lacks grocery stores, according to Growing Power.
The market will include a dine-in and take-out menu of soups and sandwiches at a café within the market. It will also feature a farmers market with produce directly from Growing Power.
Growing Power will celebrate the grand opening of the King Commons market Monday, Aug. 6. The festivities will run from 10 a.m. 12 noon at the market. The event is open to the public.
