The Greater Milwaukee Foundation has awarded two two-year grants to United Way of Greater Milwaukee & Waukesha County toward the organization’s core focus on education and health and human services.
A $100,000 grant will support a new Milwaukee Public Schools strategy known as the Milwaukee Community Schools Partnership. That initiative, currently active in four MPS schools, will center on boosting schools’ capacity to partner with community entities and using resources to meet community needs.
MPS school operating with the partnership model are Auer Avenue School, Bradley Tech, Hopkins-Lloyd Community School and James Madison Academic Campus.
A second $40,000 grant will support Thriving Waukesha County Alliance, which aims to ensure the sustainability of effectiveness of Waukesha County’s health and human services.
Grant dollars will help the alliance continue building key partnerships, improving nonprofit stability, strengthening collaboration among funders and organizations, and spreading awareness of community services.
