Grant available for classroom water projects.

The Milwaukee office of RBC Wealth Management recently awarded a $100,000 grant to DonorsChoose.org to fund classroom projects for students in grades kindergarten through 12th grade pertaining to watershed and clean drinking water issues. Funding will support education and awareness programs that promote sustainable water use and create an understanding about the value and vulnerability of water resources.

“We are thrilled to have access to funding through DonorsChoose.Org as they are a great partner of the RBC Blue Water Project,” said Douglas Artus, Milwaukee complex director. “These are very timely resources as we are seeking to provide more enrichment opportunities in schools and at the same time DonorsChoose.org is dedicated to addressing the scarcity of learning materials and valuable student experiences.”

The program is part of the overarching RBC Blue Water Project, launched in late 2007. This 10-year, $50 million philanthropic commitment goes to support organizations that are similarly committed to watershed protection and providing access to clean drinking water in North America and abroad. To date, RBC has committed more than $13 million in grants to 39 organizations.
