Grafton-based contract manufacturer
Axcesor Inc. is planning grow into a larger facility in Menomonee Falls after acquiring the industrial building about to be vacated by
Macromatic Industrial Controls Inc.
Axcesor, which makes products for the medical and industrial industries, is currently located in a 15,000-square-foot facility on Dakota Drive in Grafton.
It recently acquired the building at W134N5345 Campbell Drive in Menomonee Falls for $1.35 million, according to state records. At 33,000 square feet, this more than doubles Axcesor's footprint, said company president Bob Adikes.
Axcesor needs the additional space to assemble complete products for clients, he said.
He said the company has grown from mechanical and electrical light assembly to a full-service contract manufacturer, providing goods packaged and ready for end users. In 2014 and 2017, Axcesor installed larger injection molding machines, "insourcing" its demand, he said.
"We have opportunities to assemble complete products which demand dedicated space," Adikes said in an email. "The building will accommodate these clients and future injection molding presses."
It plans to move into the Campbell Drive building sometime in April. The current tenant, Macromatics, will be moved into its
newly built Waukesha facility at the end of February.
Axcesor will also renovate the building before moving in. Adikes said it is now configured for multiple tenants. The company will convert office space to manufacturing and accommodating an elevation change.
The company encountered difficulties in its search. Adikes said several suitable buildings they looked at were snapped up by others. He credits Nick Keys at

With the move, Axcesor expects to add at least nine new employees over the next two years, said Adikes.
Financing was provided by PyraMax Bank, with a U.S. Small Business Administration 504 loan program component through
Wisconsin Business Development. The
Waukesha County Center for Growth Inc. provided assistance through the financing process.
Brookfield-based
OneSource Construction is performing the design and build on renovations.
