Deborah Fugenschuh has been appointed executive director of Professional Dimensions, a Milwaukee membership organization that promotes the professional and personal growth of women.
Fugenschuh will be the organization’s first executive director. She will begin her new role Feb. 3.
“Deborah has a remarkable understanding of the Milwaukee community and the role women leaders can play to advance opportunities for women and girls. She is a strategic leader who will be a great asset to the organization as well as our charitable fund. We are thrilled with her selection,” said Donna Bembenek, Professional Dimensions board president and senior vice president of external relations for the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee.
Fugenschuh is known for almost 15 years as president and chief executive officer of the Donors Forum of Wisconsin, an organization respected as the premier resource for philanthropy in the state. Under her leadership, DFW almost tripled its membership and became a catalyst for changing the climate of grant making in Wisconsin.
“I am excited to become a visible leader for Professional Dimensions. Now in its 35th year, the organization is a front-runner in advancing and supporting women in the southeastern Wisconsin. What attracted me is its mission: to promote the professional and personal growth of women through social and business exchange and community participation. In addition, the members’ commitment to supporting worthy nonprofits serving women and girls through their charitable fund connects to my core beliefs. I look forward to working with the board and members to ensure the organization flourishes and increases its visibility in the coming years,” Fugenschuh said.
Fugenschuh will take the helm following the retirement of longtime Professional Dimensions administrator Lois Dee.
“We are very grateful to Lois and her many years of service to Professional Dimensions. We wish her the best in her retirement and look forward to seeing her at upcoming PD events,” Bembenek said.
