Cathy Buck, who has been president of Froedtert Hospital since 2011, plans to retire next year.

Eric Conley, senior vice president and chief operating officer for Froedtert Hospital, will be promoted to executive vice president of Froedtert Health and president of Froedtert Hospital, effective July 1, 2020. Conley has been with the health system since July 2018.

Cathy Jacobson, president and chief executive officer of Froedtert Health, announced the leadership transition to hospital staff members last week.

Buck joined Froedtert Hospital in 1982 as a staff nurse, and was later promoted to various leadership roles before becoming president.

“Her accomplishments and national recognitions are too numerous to list here, but for those who have had the good fortune of working with Cathy her legacy will include principled leadership, incredible work ethic, and wise mentorship. I am grateful to Cathy for providing ample notice to ensure a smooth transition,” Jacobson said in her letter to staff.

Buck is also currently serving a two-year term as chair of the Milwaukee Health Care Partnership, a public-private consortium working to improve health care for underserved populations in Milwaukee County.
