Fresh Thyme Farmers Market is planning its fifth Wisconsin location with a 28,700-square-foot store at 84South, a mixed-use development in Greenfield.
The organic grocery store signed a lease for the space in the development, according to Mid-America Real Estate.
It is scheduled to open in early 2017, and is one of the anchors of the project, according to developer Scott Yauck, president and CEO of Cobalt Partners, who is leading the project.
Construction work began in March for the 42-acre 84South development, located south of I-894 and west of South 84th Street.
84South will include a 123,000-square-foot, multi-tenant single-story retail building on the northeast corner of the site and a 143,000-square-foot multi-tenant, single-story retail building in the central portion of the site.
Together, the buildings will hold 11 tenants. Yauck said last month 10 of the 11 spaces were committed.
A Steinhafels store will occupy 58,000 square feet of retail space in the 84South development. The store will replace the existing Steinhafels store at the corner of 84th and Layton Avenue.
Another potential tenant for 84South is Portillo’s, the Chicago-based hot dog restaurant, which is considering plans for new restaurants in Greenfield and Madison, but has not named specific sites.
Deerfield, Ill.-based Fresh Thyme is also planning or building stores in Brookfield, Kenosha and Menomonee Falls.
