It looks like more money from Foxconn Technology Group has been invested in Wisconsin real estate. Only this time it involves a company executive's purchase of a private home.
Alan Yeung, Foxconn director of U.S. strategic initiatives, and his wife Stella Chan, have purchased a house in Elm Grove for about $2.19 million, according to state records.
The home totals 10,396 square feet, and includes five bedrooms and six total bathrooms, according to online listings.
The 13th Century gothic residence was designed by architect Russell Zimmerman, using such materials as rubble stone, hand-carved limestone, wrought iron, copper and Vermont slate, according to the listing. It sits on an acre of manicured, gently sloping grounds.
It was purchased from Elizabeth and Jennifer Just.
Yeung is the face of Foxconn's Wisconsin operations.
Some are critical of the company's statewide investments, arguing that Foxconn has failed to keep its myriad promises. This includes the delivery of a smaller manufacturing building in Mount Pleasant than Foxconn executives had touted. It also has so far not created the number of jobs it promised. The Wisconsin Economic Development Corp. told the company last year it was not eligible for tax credits because it is no longer building a Gen. 10.5 LCD fabrication plant as originally promised.
But the company has constructed some buildings on its Mount Pleasant campus, including the manufacturing facility and a spherical-shaped data center building.
