The East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission has approved part of a plan to seek funds from the U.S. Department of Defense that would help launch an aviation industry hub in the Fox Valley.
The commission — which is comprised of representatives from counties across the Fox Valley — unanimously approved a plan July 31 to pursue federal grant dollars in phase two of a multipronged effort to build an aviation industry hub in the Fox Valley, after Oshkosh Corp. layoffs rippled through the region in 2012 and 2013.
